OUR STORY
Meeting the customers real need
There are lots of reasons we decided to set up WhyBuy. Saving space at home, accessing better quality items as and when we need them, trying out new things that we aren’t sure we really need and of course, saving money. We wanted to make sure that our customers were able to get their hands on the things they needed for a short period without onerous and complicated contracts and have them delivered right to their door at a time they choose.
In the same way that ride-sharing apps like Uber have made it possible to live in cities without car ownership for a vast majority of people, WhyBuy is eliminating the environmentally unfriendly and cluttering of homes filled with infrequently used items while allowing them access to things they need exactly for how long they want it.
We figured out pretty quickly that we could save customers loads of money and give them better tools and products when they needed them making it a double win. Better items and saving you money.
Conscious of waste
Every year, consumers purchase items they need in their homes for specific tasks but only need to use them briefly. Often these items are expensive, stored badly or kept charged and fall into disrepair. Think about it – How much stuff do you own at home that you never use? How much money is tied up in those things at home that you bought for a single purpose but then simply had in your home? We decided to be honest with ourselves and admit we often bought cheap items to do things at home and then we never used them again. That barbecue you bought in July last year quickly became a rusting eye-sore and was probably only used for one season.
Being clean and green
In 2016, we used a year’s worth of the Earth’s resources by August 8th. In 2019 that had moved to July 29th and while the UK is leading the way in decarbonising the economy, we think we can all continue the lifestyles we all want and save space and money while addressing our over-consumption.
